About Me

I grew up in Sweden and came to California in my midtwenties, having traveled and lived throughout Europe before then, getting acquainted with different cultures and languages. I’ve always been curious and interested in different ways of living life, and was always drawn toward change and development.

My Journey into Clinical Psychology

Landing in clinical psychology in my thirties was a natural progression of that journey and I have loved my work ever since finishing my doctorate. In private practice since 2000, partially in a group practice which I helped open in Silicon Valley, and a community provider for Stanford Counseling and Psychological Services for over 20 years, I now have the experience of over 30,000 hours of therapy sessions helping people become more authentic versions of themselves.

Therapeutic Approach

I have trained extensively in various modes of therapy, and currently work eclectically, incorporating aspects of psychodynamic principles, CBT, somatic or physiological therapy, from an attachment based perspective. I tailor my therapy to whomever is in front of me, relying on a collaborative approach. You are always the expert on you, and I see my task as helping you resolve any blocks that keep you from reaching your stated goals, thus I am very active in session. I love working with couples as well as individuals. When the relationship with yourself is healthy, relationships with others benefit.

Personal Life & Interests

My happy place has always been nature, and I am an avid doglover. With four grandchildren, I also love playful family time and rediscovering the world through the eyes of children.
